The grand figure who has introduced change to flamenco is reinventing himself, and right before our eyes! Israel Galván, with acute sensitivity, has brought great depth to the feeling of templar, a term used to describe the pause, the state of suspension just before the dancer moves, the musical expression, the silence of the toreador. There beside two musicians and an actor, the bailaor moves into the interstices between the notes, between the words, forming a dialogue with traditional melodies from Andalusia. After Rome, and his experience in the Tempietto, the temple designed by the Renaissance architect Bramante, he is presenting a world premiere at the Théâtre de la Ville with a completely new rendition of his art.

My idea was to start working from the inside of the architecture and give it a sound: how does the temple sound? how does it speak? how does it dance? to amplify the feeling of what is inside. And concentrating on the concept of 'tempering', dancing various versions of this word, of this way of being. (Israel Galván)
